You know that subplot in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire about how Hermione keeps trying to organize a house-elf revolution, and the house-elves keep going “no, we’re cool, thanks” and the point is how she’s really being just as condescending as everyone else by assuming she knows better than them what they should want and ignores what they’re actually saying?

It is amazing how many people missed the point.
